  1. I think that this project should have been made a long time before, because in this way, all people will be motivated with a better environment and more chances of going abroad and also more places where we can learn a foreign language, not only for students but also for people who have given up their studies. It is favourable to the cognitive development, and so we will be prepared for academic and working world. Furthermore, with this plan it won’t be so important the age of acquisition because it will encourage and develop the rest of characteristics which affect Second Language Learning, such as motivation (as I say before), aptitude, identity with other cultures (because people will know these different cultures and societies), etc.

  2. I consider that this project is an excellent idea because of the necessity of the current society, not only the Andalusian one but also the national one, to communicate with people of different mother tongue as a means to find work, travel abroad or just for fun among other reasons.
With this proposal, our linguistic competences in a second language acquisition would be improved thanks to the interest and effort showed by the governmental system. However, there are a lot of things to do in order to achieve a better level in foreign languages.
Regarding the age of acquisition, I think that institutions consider it as a very important factor for second language acquisition because nowadays children begin to learn a foreign language before. Nevertheless, other features should be reinforced such as learning styles, motivation and attitudes or learner beliefs.

  4. In my opinion the plan for promoting plurilinguisim should be established as soon as possible in order to make the way to a new generation based on international relationships. The main goal of this educational project would be the formation of people so on the academic subjects as in the acquisition of several languages simultaneously. This plan could be considered from two perspectives, on one hand taking into account how new generations would be provided with many advantages in personal and laboral issues and, on the other hand, taking into consideration the difficulty that it probably would have to face during its first years of application.
In relation to its advantages, I think that the idea of establishing a plan with such features would promote a great advance in academic and intellectual terms because the fact of learning two or three languages simoultaneously will make children to open their minds to different cultures as well as increasing the possibilities of working or living in countries where a language different from their native one is spoken. By contrast, if I think about the disadvantages that this plan could have, the single idea that crosses my mind is maybe the lack of qualified materials at schools that would be interested to use in order to give this lessons efficiently.
Nevertheless, I am sure that this difficulty could be solved at the time that schools were adapted to this new system of education. For this reason, it would be important to introduce this plan for promoting plurilinguism in children whose critical period has not gone, because during this period the process of acquisition is easier since their brains present some kind of innate flexibility to receive new information and to organize inputs coming from their social environment. Meanwhile, the linguistic skills that had not been acquired during this period could be acquired but in a more deficient or difficult way , because of that, the earlier this plan was adopted the better children will be prepared to face future.

  5. For me, the promotion of a plurilingual social environment through school is fantastic. And so is teaching a foreign language slightly earlier.

One of the reasons why I am for it plan, is that children are able to learn a second language better if they are smaller; in fact, in physiological terms, they assimilate the range of sounds better.

Other reason for the plan is that children learn how to live with several languages in everyday life, considering the languages coexistence as natural. So, the children feel themselves comfortable with more than one language and have no problems in using them, in opposition to what now happens, in many cases in which children – youths and adults too- feel embarrassed or afraid when they speak other language.

Another point in this plan is teaching the teachers new languages. Due to the age, it is possible to find some sort of handicap in first generations of teachers that are learning the language in order to teach children later on. It is like a double process of teaching and it may take time to reach a good level among teachers, but after all, it has to begin at some point.

  6. I think that the plan for promoting plurilinguism has to be established quickly in order to reach a higher level of a second language. This plan is very useful because allows people to be in contact with other cultures and it is better to be able to speak more than a language because you will be more prepared in academic and working terms.
Although this plan can have some negative perspectives such the way in which teachers have to teach, I think that this is also a very important challenge, because this implies that both teachers and learners learn together and put more attention to the subjects. And it is also a way of stimulate people to think about other themes concerned with other cultures.
It is better to introduce this plan in earlier ages because during the critical period, learners’ minds are more prepared to acquire this kind of inputs. So, they will be able to associate and assimilate the inputs.

  7. I am totally agreed with ‘Plurilingualism Promotion Plan’, since it is an efficient approach to learn foreign languages and cultures with all the positive consequences that this would lead at the academic and working level. However, when implanting this method at schools, it is important to take into account the age of acquisition as the critical period is the key phase to acquire any kind of input. But nevertheless, the rest of features of a good L2 learner deserve special attention and must be potentiated.
From my point of view, the most significant outcome that this plan brings is that the child does not learn the foreign languages and cultures as a matter separate from his/her mother tongue but, all the languages he/she acquires will interrelate and interact building up a cross-cultural person.

  8. Age of acquisition is one of the influential factors in the development of teaching and learning a foreign language, in my opinion, this factor is the most important for several reasons.
From a scientific and psychological point of view at the age of 7 or 8 the children have a high level of neurons in their brains which imply more connection in order to improve their Knowledge in contrast to adults.
So, the Biological period of life is quite important in the process of acquirement and we have some evidences, for instance, we know that some children at the age of 12 who suffered damage in the left hemisphere (where is the language) preserved both languages(mother and foreign) but in the case of adults the foreign language was deleted.
Anyway, Age of acquisition is not only the influential factor but also there are other elements which are in correlations such as intelligence, aptitude or motivation, which help us to understand it.
